Client C.P. was charged with one count of Armed Robbery. It was alleged that along with a number of other co-accused parties, C.P. partook in an armed robbery at a local department store. During this alleged robbery, the accused entered the establishment and brandished a gun, demanding that the victim turn over a large quantity of money. Due to the aggravating circumstances surrounding the alleged offence, the Crown Attorney was not in a position to withdraw this serious charge. Mr. Batasar fought vigorously for his client, conducting a number of Judicial Pre- Trials. A two- day trial was set, however prior to proceeding to trial, Mr. Batasar continued his discussions with the Crown. As a result of his aggressive defence, Mr. Batasar was able to resolve his client’s matter with no conviction prior to trial taking place. All other co- accuseds are currently awaiting trial.
