Client M.L. was charged with Assault with a Weapon and Weapons Dangerous. It was alleged that S.L. observed the victim and the complainant across the street from his house partaking in displays of affection. Upset, S.L. asked both to leave the area, of which they refused. S.L. allegedly retreated back into his house and returned to the street with a machete, waving it at both the victim and complainant. If found guilty, the Crown Attorney in this case was seeking between 4 and 6 months jail. Before trial, Mr. Batasar was able to have all charges withdrawn. No criminal conviction.
