Client M.T was charged with Criminal Harassment. The client and the victim attend the same secondary school in Brampton and it was alleged the client was harassing the victim, constantly bothering her by verbally abusing, and at one point pushed her as she was walking by. The victim did not suffer any injuries due to the alleged push, however it was reported to the principals of the school. On another occassion the client M.T was at school with the victim and during the day it was alleged the client was harassing the victim by constantly swearing and following her to class. It was also alleged that the client was standing in the hallway and purposefully tripped the victim as she was walking by, causing her to stumble and lose balance. The victim stated she was fearful of the accused, proceeded to the office where the police were subsequently involved and charges were laid against the client.
After conducting a Judicial Pre- Trial with the Crown and the Judge, Mr. Batasar was successful in resolving the matter and getting a Conditional Discharge and Probation with No Criminal Conviction. The client and his father were extremely happy with the outcome and M.T can put this matter behind him and focus on completing his education.
