Client B.C. was charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident and Drive Disqualified. It was alleged that client B.C. took a company vehicle after work and proceeded to drive himself and a friend home for the evening. This vehicle ended up crashing into a tree, with the alleged driver, B.C. leaving the scene immediately following the crash. Due to the serious nature of the charges, along with client B.C.’s past criminal convictions, the Crown Attorney was seeking a significant amount of custody, as well as a complete driving prohibition. After a two- day trial and testimony of numerous eye witnesses to the accident, client B.C. was found not guilty on all charges. No conviction.
